Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

CrawlBeacon ("we", "us") provides free technical SEO tools and website monitoring at crawlbeacon.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. CrawlBeacon is operated by Aneesh G, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Contact: aneeshg2001@gmail.com.

The short version

  • You can use the tools without an account.
  • If you sign in, we store your Google email address and name so you can save scans and get alerts.
  • We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
  • You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

What we collect

When you use the tools without signing in

  • The URLs you check and the results, if you save a scan.
  • A browser cookie (cb_anon) that keeps your saved scans available on this device without an account. It lasts up to 1 year.
  • Usage events, such as "a check was run" or "a report was opened". These are linked to that cookie, not to your name. They don't include the URLs you check.

When you sign in with Google

  • Your email address, name and Google account ID, which Google shares with us when you sign in. We don't receive or store your Google password or profile photo.
  • A sign-in cookie (cb_auth) that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, and a short-lived cookie (cb_auth_state, 10 minutes) that protects the sign-in step.
  • Your saved scans, projects, weekly monitoring schedules and alerts.
  • Alert emails we send you, and whether they were delivered.
  • Scans you saved before signing in on the same device are moved into your account.

When you contact us or join a list

  • Your name, email address and message, plus your IP address and browser type (used to fight spam). This also covers the newsletter and Pro waitlist forms.

If you subscribe to a paid plan (when available)

  • Payments are handled by Razorpay. We send Razorpay your account ID and email address; we never see or store your card details. We keep your subscription status and plan.

Automatically

  • Website analytics through Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Where your visit came from: the campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source=linkedin), the website that sent you, and the first page you opened. This is kept in your browser's local storage and sent with sign-in and with usage events such as "a check was run", so we can see which posts and websites bring people to CrawlBeacon. It doesn't include the URLs you check.
  • Our hosting providers keep standard request logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

How we use it

  • To run the tools, save your scans and run the monitoring you turn on.
  • To send the alert emails you asked for, and service messages about your account.
  • To reply when you contact us, and to send newsletter or waitlist updates if you signed up.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse (for example rate limits) and fix problems.
  • To understand which tools are used, so we can improve them. We look at totals, not individuals.

We rely on: providing the service you asked for; our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving it; and your consent for newsletter emails (you can withdraw it at any time).

Shared links

If you create a share link for a report, anyone with that link can view the report. You can turn the link off at any time.

The websites you check

Our tools send requests to the websites you enter, from our servers. The live access test sends requests that identify as AI crawlers (for example OAI-SearchBot), so the site owner may see them in their logs. Only check websites you own or are allowed to test (see our Terms).

Who helps us run CrawlBeacon

We share data only with providers that run parts of the service for us:

Provider What it does
Google Sign-in
Vercel Hosts the website; page-view analytics
Render Hosts our server (API)
Neon Database
Resend Sends alert and service emails
Razorpay Payments (only if you subscribe)

These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our users and service.

How long we keep it

  • Account data, saved scans and schedules: while your account exists. The free plan shows the last 30 days of history; older scans stay stored until you delete your account.
  • Scans saved without an account: linked to the cb_anon cookie until you ask us to delete them.
  • Contact, newsletter and waitlist messages: until we've dealt with them, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Request logs: kept by our hosting providers for their standard periods.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete your data: email aneeshg2001@gmail.com from your account's address and we'll delete your account and everything linked to it within 30 days.
  • Stop alert emails: remove the weekly schedule on the report, or email us.
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter: reply to any newsletter email or email us.
  • Access, correct or export your data: email us.
  • Cookies: you can clear or block cookies in your browser. The tools still work; saving scans without an account and staying signed in won't.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or India), you may have further rights, including to object to processing or to complain to your data protection authority. To use any right, contact aneeshg2001@gmail.com. Grievance contact for users in India: Aneesh G, aneeshg2001@gmail.com.

Security

We use HTTPS, signed and HttpOnly cookies, and access controls on our database and providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children

CrawlBeacon isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For significant changes, we'll show a notice on the site or email signed-in users.
